On every route page
Send to Device.
Every route page has a Send to Device button. Tap it, pick your device, and follow the instructions. They’re tailored to whether you’re on your phone or a computer.
Send to Device modal
A QR code on desktop, a one-tap share on mobile
01
Open any route on Gravel Atlas.
02
Tap “Send to Device.”
A guided modal opens.
03
Pick your device.
Phone, Garmin, Wahoo, or Hammerhead. (Or skip the picker and download the GPX file directly.)
04
Follow the steps for your device.
On mobile, that’s usually a single tap to open the file in your app of choice. On desktop, you’ll get a QR code so you can finish the transfer on your phone. No cables, no email-to-self.
Step-by-step by device
The same flow, by device.
The Send to Device modal walks you through these interactively. They’re here for reference.
3.Go to Routes → Import Route and upload the file.
4.It syncs to your Karoo automatically.
On mobile you can also tap Share to Hammerhead in the Send to Device modal.
04
Phone (any cycling app)
1.Tap Send to Device → Phone.
2.Download the GPX and open it from your Files/Downloads.
3.Choose your app of choice: Komoot, Strava, RideWithGPS, Wahoo, or anything that accepts GPX.
A few honest tips
Things worth checking before you ride.
01
Preview the route on the map before sending. Make sure it goes where you think it goes. Gravel Atlas routes are real rides, not auto-generated, so they take real-world detours.
02
Download offline maps in your app before you ride remote terrain. The GPX track works offline by itself, but the basemap underneath does not.
03
Bring a battery pack if you’re navigating from your phone. Screen-on GPS chews through battery.
04
The QR code is your friend. It’s faster than emailing yourself the file.
No. GPS works without a cellular signal. As long as you’ve downloaded offline maps in your app, you’re fine in the middle of nowhere.
Can I share routes with friends?
Yes. Send them the Gravel Atlas link (best, because they get the photos and description), or share the GPX file directly via AirDrop, email, or cloud storage.
