About this event
For internal testing purposes only. Content is placeholder.
Lake Wörthersee in April is cold, turquoise, and completely stunning. It's also the backdrop for one of the fastest-growing gravel races in the Alps — and one of only a handful of events on the UCI Gravel World Series calendar.
The premiere edition in 2024 was a huge success — sold out within two months, with German racer Caroline Schiff calling it the *best-organized gravel race in Europe* she'd ever taken part in. That kind of reputation spreads fast. By 2026 it's already on its third edition and firmly established on the international gravel calendar.
The race is built around a character called Gralf — a mischievous Alpine creature from local legend — and the three formats are named after him: Beat Gralf (the UCI race, the real deal), Catch Gralf (the amateur mass-start race), and Find Gralf (a leisure ride the day before). It's a slightly silly bit of branding that somehow works, because the riding itself is entirely serious. The course features challenging climbs, more gravel, new technical sections, and spectacular views of the lake — all designed to push your limits while keeping the scenery front and center.
Start and finish are right in the center of Velden, on the lakefront promenade. Expo, spectators, post-race beer — all within walking distance of the water. As an entry point into UCI-level gravel racing in central Europe, it's hard to beat.
